About Us

We are excited to serve you!

Our Heritage

Located across the street from Historic Rocky Mountain College on Poly Drive, The Granary has been a landmark restaurant in Billings, Montana for nearly 50 years!  Originally built in 1935, the Granary served as the milling department for Billings Polytechnic Institute until World War II when they closed the doors. The Granary sat vacant until 1976 when it was reopened as a restaurant.

New Ownership

New ownership along with the recent remodel breathes new life into a Billings staple and honors the history of the past. Accents of rough cut timbers and cold rolled steel run throughout the dining room and bar providing a modern take on a classic landmark.

An Opportunity

After renovating the historic Rex Hotel and opening Buffalo Block Prime Steakhouse at the Rex in 2019, the Larson family’s passion for the service industry continued. Upon finding out that The Granary was looking for new ownership, the opportunity to revive another historic landmark was exciting for the long standing Billings entrepreneurs.

The Granary roots run deep for the Larson’s as two of the owners attended Rocky Mountain College and Rick and Nicki have a long standing relationship with the institution. From college alma mater to wedding receptions, The Granary has always held a special place for the Larson family.

The four Larson siblings have teamed up to bring an exciting and unique experience to Billings. With a love for traveling and food, they teamed up with Chef Oscar and Food and Beverage Manager, Mitch Fox, to create a menu highlighting seafood and a Mediterranean spirit.
